Merry New Ear and Stuffs
Ah yes.. it's that time of year again, where I break into the leftover bottle of lean to combat the sickness. Jameson and Mr. Walker for backup... wooooooooooooha clean living without health insurance.
Irregardlessly, I'm back with a sporadic post to let folks know what the Via Diablos have been up to as of late. First things first, I completely slipped on this one, but...
VIA HAS A NEW MIX UP IN LOOSE TAPE. Defibrillators: Via Remixes features 13 remixes by DZ, Ixley, and Captain P with some original production thrown in as well. I'm definitely proud of these doods, they whipped the project together in the week leading up to the Fall/Winter Seasonal we threw in December.
Also in Loose Tape, we'll be upping Captain Planet's Future Boogie mix as well as finally making Jungle Funk Island and Electrified Globe readily available for download (no more streaming!)
In other Via news, The Gumbo Funk EP has completely sold out of its first pressing of vinyl (450 copies! HUGE for our no-budget operation). Distro doods are picking up the tab for the next round of pressing, and folks should be able to cop the EP in all its illustrious waxy glory (complete with full color sleeve yes yes) this week. So far we's seens it on ArtMusic and Kudos Records.. if anyone finds it in their neighborhood shop, snap a flick and send it to Captain P so he can get his kicks.
I'm slightly behind on this, but The Ricky Gervais Show has been keeping us thoroughly entertained at work.
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School is having another cabaret-meets-art-school session at the Lucky Cat Lounge in Billburg.
Also in Billburg on Saturday, our homies at Boundless NY and King Stampede are throwing their Launch Party at Galapagos.
Black Marmalade. Dechazier's got a good thing going here. The interview lineup is already worth your reading time.
The Museum of Black Superheroes ...remember Milestone Comics? No? Remember the Liquid Swords album art? Exactly. Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr arrrr arrrrrrrrr ar.
Yes we are going to Sa-Ra on Wednesday. Hollywood Hollywood. NY Debut kiddies, expecting great things from these here creative partners.
